SCS134   Professional Development Portfolio: year 1   (40 credits)

Description

This work-based unit enables students to: demonstrate basic communication skills; their ability to engage with service users; their capacity to work as a member of an organisation; demonstrate basic SW values, knowledge and skills; develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a social worker and how to work within complex organisations to the required level of professionalism. The unit spans the year enabling students to apply learning from the accompanying level 4 modules. The two stage assessment will enable students to progress their professional studies having demonstrated their `Readiness for Practice' (PCF 2018).
